“Don’t spend your time on and give your heart to any guy who makes you wonder about anything
related to his feelings for you” – Greg Behrendt
Generally, if someone likes you, it won’t be hard to tell. They will make it known that they like you or are interested in you in some way.
However, when the signs are pointing towards the person being disinterested in us, we sometimes refuse to acknowledge those signs.
And this, my friends, ends up making us look foolish. Trust me, I know from experience.
Pay attention to the signs!
Signs that someone is not that into you:
1. They never text you. Ever.
This should be a pretty obvious sign. If someone you like never initiates any type of contact with you, then odds are they don’t think about you very much or just don’t care enough. I understand that some people really don’t like texting and never use their phone, but a text message literally takes 10 seconds out of a 24 hour day to type and send. “Hey, how are ya?” “How’s it going?” “Hope you’re having a great day” “How’s the weather?” People who like you and are interested in you will send these types of texts to you. Haven’t seen any of these types of texts from your crush yet and it’s been 3 months? Delete his number, love.
This brings me to the next one.
2. You always initiate contact.
Some people only talk to you when you initiate contact with them because it’s the polite thing to do. They don’t really care about the conversation they are having with you. They don’t care about how your day is going. They don’t care that you just spent $200 at the mall on a new expensive coat. They’re just passing time. You really don’t mean anything to them except for a few words on a screen.
3. You guys never hang out or spend time together and when you do, it’s with other people.
The only way you are able to intimately get to know someone is to spend one on one time with them. If your crush avoids one on one time with you, well, he’s just not that into you.
4. He makes excuses.
“I can’t tonight, I’m out with friends.“ ”I have no money, I spent it all last night at the bar.” “I’m really tired, I think I’m actually going to stay in.” “I’m sorry, I’m really busy. I’ll text you later if I don’t forget!“
Excuses, excuses, excuses.
5. He doesn’t text you back.
Need I say more?
6. You go over to one another’s house to have sex, or to do sexual things together, and then one of you forcibly or willingly leaves immediately or not too long afterwards.
This one is tricky because I think a lot of gay guys (and people, in general) sometimes believe that if someone has sex with you, it must mean that they like you or are interested in you. This couldn’t be any further from the truth. Just because a guy has sex with you, doesn’t mean that he likes you or is interested in you. The truth is, most guys, gay or straight, are willing to cum inside of anything that has a hole and is willing to have sex with them. Especially if they are horny at the time.
So, if you have a sex based relationship with your crush, odds are he isn’t interested in creating a 401k plan with ya, honey.
However, I do applaud you for getting into your crush’s pants! Most people don’t get that far! Have fun and wear protection!
I leave you with these quotes:
“Here’s something else to think about: calling when you say you’re going to is the very first brick in the house you are building of love and trust. If he can’t lay this one stupid brick down, you ain’t never gonna have a house baby, and it’s cold outside.” – Greg Behrendt
“Busy’ is another word for ‘asshole’. ‘Asshole’ is another word for the guy you’re dating.” – Greg Behrendt
Lesson: He’s just not that into you? Move on to someone who is.
